If you didn't see Rush you should feel sad.
Because they were the most amazing I've seen them since the Counterparts tour. I'm not gonna spoil the setlist for you (You can find up-to-date lists at The Rush Forum if you want) but suffice it to say it was brilliant. They played enough old songs and middle songs and new songs to keep me happy and air drumming or air bassing or air guitaring for 3 hours. I saw them in Tampa the last 2 times they played there but I think the sound was much better here at the Orena (Amway Schmamway - it's the Orena to me and always will be). I re-fell in love with the Snakes and Arrows material - They played it with a fire and passion that I didn't think possible. Alex played clean and clear and so intense they back of my seat is the only thing that kept me standing. Geddy punched me in the gut all night long. Voice was great and that man can just damn play a mother fucking bass. And how dare anyone ever say Neil Peart is a machine? Take the dicks out of your ears, morons. Neil is as organic as anyone and godlier than most. You wish you had the talent he has in one ass pimple. Someone commented on the previously mentioned Rush Forum that they were in the first couple rows and they could see the man actually counting measures and beats. Neail Peart! Counting! How about that you wannabes? He has to do it just like you do and he is STILL a million times better at it than you are nowor will ever be.
Fucking Christ on a popsicle stick, Rush was a glory to behold. Until next time, thanks Canada for sending me these guys.
But maybe the best part was that I ran into a long awaited friend on the way out of the show. Robert. you have no idea how happy I was to see you. Let's not let that many years go by again.
ps - Open note to "Brad", a commenter on the Orlando Sentinel web review of the show. Haha - you suck. I laugh at you and your comments for you truly showed your ass. And it had your head in it. And your mom. Whoa! Your momma. She is a whore. Clash that, bitch.
