Good Eats is my favorite show on the FoodTV network. One of my favorite shows on any channel. Alton Brown kicks total ass and F-U if you don't agree. So I am damn near ecstatic that I got to meet him at a local book store when he did a signing session and short talk with Q&A from the audience. He signed two books and a flyer for the OG and I got to tell him personally how much I enjoy his work. When someone does good work I am a big believer in letting that person know it. Without being like a creepy stalker fan, of course....Alton was very funny and extremely gracious and he vowed to stay until every last person there got whatever they brung signed. I know I was in line for a couple hours and I was less than half way back so he had to have been there for a loooooong time. That's how ya know when someone is good people. And you didn't have to have his new book either - he was signing whatever a person brought with the exception of live critters. (He said he had a bad experience with a ferret once so critters was out.) We took pictures too - but I can't find that little cable thingy to download them to my computer - I know that's very un-Geekly to not have whatever piece of technology you need right at hand in a numbered drawer with pictures and descriptions on the front. So sue me. I'm a Geek. Not an organizer. I'll post up a pic when I dig through my stuff and find the cable. I
could use the synch cable for my Palm Tungsten
E but that would require remembering to bring it home and then remembering to bring it back to work and that's seems to me to be an awful lot of remembering. I'm a Geek, not a rememberer.
Anyway - Thank you Alton Brown for a kick ass evening and a kick ass TV show.
OG out. (Yes that's 2 times in a row I signed off with "OG out". Yes I have been watching American Idol. But I swear it's only to make fun of the dorks who think they can sing. And Seacrest. He's the King Dork.)
